This is ABEL'S STORY...
Meet Baby "Abel"
Baby Abels story is not an uncommon one, but heart wrenching non the less. The product of a "breeder" who does not fall under the category of "ethical" or "responsible" Because of this, we are all coming together to fight for baby Abels life. Abel cannot stand, lift his head or even drink alone. He's truly fighting with everything he has to stay alive. He will need 24 hour around the clock care, and a long recovery for his body to help start working on his own again. At this point we know he is touch and go directly related to starvation, severe coccidia and round worm infestation along with many other secondary issues of recovery. With the amazing staff at Animal Hospital Regency Park, a dedicated staff at RRInc and an amazing community of supports and donors like yourself, we will be able to watch Abel grow and make it through this long battle! Please help us saving Abel! Every dollar counts, nothing is too small to make the difference! If you would like to donate directly to the Hospital you can do so here: Animal Hospital of Regency Park 7741 Congress St, Port Richey, FL 34653 Phone:(727) 848-6247
This is LUDO'S STORY...
This sweet big 12 week old boys story isn't much different then many of the sever demodex cases we get. He was found running around on his own, no owner to claim in sever pain. Baby Ludo has a bacterial skin infection all over his body, which has also caused an eye infection. He skin on certain spots of his body is so sensative it breaks open to the touch from his generalized demodex infection. This type of mange is so upsetting when we see it, because it is so preventable and extreamly treatable when it first occures. There is no need for it to get to Ludo's stage and worse. It then become a huge financial burdon to any people saving them and extremely painful for all the dogs at this point beyond. Baby Ludo had a few month recovery but will be a very big handsome man when he is ready for adoption Will you be able to help us with his recovery? Every $1.00 helps!
This is WILLIAM'S STORY...
So named for his "Will" to live. This handsome two year old sickly boy was found wondering the local streets as a stray. With sever starvation, secondary bacterial infection, Ear infection and on going bloodwork and urinalysis coming back to indicate more things to come... He had not given up hope when we met him and we are determined to bring William back to a healthy state to find a wonderful forever home that he will never have to go through anything like this again...
William has already gone through extensive bloodwork.
Daily PCV Checks for Platelet count.
He must eat very small meals every few hours to not cause intestinal upset and onset vomiting.
He will be going in for an abdominal ultrasound.
Mr William has a long hard road to recovery but with everyone's help, he will make it and be able to find that amazing forever home he so deserves.
New Port Richey, FL 34653 (Checks accepted mailed, or credit cards given over the phone for account: Rugaz Rescue Re: William)
This is HERSHEL'S STORY...
This handsome mastiff boy was transfered into RRInc. from a local shelter for much needed medical care. He is currently approx 50lbs under weight, battling a secondary bacterial skin infection from living in diplorable conditions, anemia from flea infestation and has a lump that needs to be surgically removed close to his spine.
This boy is as sweet as he is handsome, and loves anything and everything he comes in contact with. It is going to be a slow and long recovery for this boy to over come what humans did to him, but with your help RRInc will be able to get him well and on the road to finding a forever home!
Hershel is now an active happy boy, but has not gained the weight back that he should be. He is going to need to go in for further testing to find out what might be going on to cause him not to be able to gain weight as a normal dog. His bloodwork is starting at $200.00 for a full pannel and can go up from there, we need your help!
This is JADA'S STORY...
Meet Miss "Jada",
Jada became apart of RRInc's "Golden Years" project when she was brought into our office by a very kind elderly women. Jada's owner was in intensive care passing away, and everywhere she took Jada they were refused or the worst alternative, euthanasia. So RRInc accepted her into PGY and are getting here all fixed up and ready for adoption.
Miss Jada is currently battling an ear infection, a secondary skin infection from flea infestation and is in much need of a dental cleaning.
She is a mellow yet playful 8 year old Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix who is fully house/crate trained and loves everyone two and four legged. Once Miss Jada is sponsored and ready for adoption she will make the perfect new addition to any family who is looking for a forever companion!
Meet Raylan Givens,
He was turned over to Animal Services as a stray with a sever upper respiratory infection (Pneumonia) and a moderate case of generalized demodex with a secondary bacterial infection.
The side of his face is covered in deep scabs and bacteria which needs daily soaking, oral medication and bi-weekly topical medication to over come. He is also on breathing treatments for the pneumonia.
On top of all the outside physical medical issues he has, he is also extremely malnutrition and is on a special diet to get his weight back up and his organs to process it all properly.
Raylan is as sweet as he looks, and with some major recovery and TLC will be ready to snuggle his way into his forever home within a few months...
Thank you all for your continued support, and specifically helping Ralyan on his way to recovery. Keep an eye out for updates!
Miss Gwendolyn's eye's show how beautiful her soul is. No matter how much people have put her through, she still gives kisses and wants to lay right by you and follow your every move.
Gwen was used as a puppy making machine until she was worthless and thrown out to die... That is how humans have treated her, yet she is still so forgiving that no matter who you are she will still give you a kiss and never think the worst about a human.
She is going to need so much needed medical treatment and TLC to fully recover from her past life. Her biggest battle currently is fighting through a massive upper respiratory infection, Her feet are swollen twice the size due to a massive yeast infection she has in the pads of her feet and ears. She has a generalized staph infection due to poor living conditions. She has Hooks,Tapes, Round and Whip worms we are battling off currently. A few of her mamories are infected, due to how how they hang when she itches she breaks the sensitive skin open. To top off all her outside medical issues she is also Heartworm Positive.
This girl needs all the help RRInc and our community can muster up to get her through this ordeal to finally be free of all her medical ailments and find a forever home who will spoil her rotten like she should have always been...
Get well soon sweet Gwendolyn, you have all our hearts...
Rita and her litters race to become healthy...
Rita's story has many downs, but now that she is in the care of RRInc, it will only be up from her! Rita was taken in by a local Animal Services under a cruelty investigation where a few weeks later she gave birth to her litter of beautiful puppies. Over the course of a week a few of the puppies had passed away and the remaining started to deteriorate, so RRInc was called to come in and help this family. This little family has a sever case of pneumonia, and will under go many weeks of daily nebulize treatments, medications, 24/7 monitoring and all the positive vibe and thoughts we can send them. It is going to be a long tough road for these kids, but were going to give them every fighting chance we can...Chip In Donations are to help offset the cost of the follow for all 5 puppies and Mother:Nebulize treatment medications. Antibiotics. PetTinic vitamin supplement. Panicur Dewormer. Fluids. Xrays and Exams. Transportation costs. Any and all continued care needs. Vaccines/Alterations/Microchip when healthy enough.
Meet Beautiful Arabella,
Which is a perfect fit because Arabella is "beautiful" in Dutch. This little girl (and we mean skinny) was wondering around the road in the middle of traffic early Sunday morning. Her nails are approx 3" inch long, and have never been trimmed. Her hind end and tail are urine stained, and riddled with pressure soars, but the obvious and worst part is she is absolutely emaciated purely and only because of starvation.
This little girl was running around with a collar on, approx 3 times the size of her neck, which looks like it might have fit her at one point in time. Miss Arabelle's has a road ahead of her eating small meals multiple times to gain her weight back, and some training to go through before she will be available for adoption.
We are currently investigating the whereabouts and leads of information to find out who did this to Miss Arabella, and are also seeking out a foster care home while she is in recovery.
A good samaritan had contacted us about a wonderful momma and her litter of puppies that are in desperate need of rescue. Momma April showed up on a disabled man's porch, and gave birth the 10 wonderful puppies that night. With help from the neighbors they have all been caring for Momma April and her pups, and have placed 5 into homes. There is Momma April and 5 pups left.
This family will all be Spayed/Neutered, Microchipped, De-Wormed, Vaccinated, Started on Heartworm and Flea prevention all before adoption. Any donations made will all be towards the medical care and costs of supporting this wonderful family. Mama April's litter has been named the "Months" Litter" for January, May, June, July and August. You can fill out an adoption application for Mama April or any of her pups by visiting the Adopt-A-Bulls page HERE.
Medical Condition: Intestinal Parasite Infestation. Malnutrition.
Current Medical Status: Being Treated for Parasites and Malnutrition. Awaiting Heartworm Status.
TO ALL WHO HAVE ALREADY DONATED!!!
Baby Kaia unfortunately does not have a story much different then anyone else.
This little 13 week old baby was found as a "stray" on the streets of Miami-Dade in a horrific condition which was completely preventable and easily curable.
Baby Kaia has a sever case of Demodex Mange, which if treated when it first starts is very inexpensive and easy to immediately rectify. When left un treated in extreme cases it can be deadly, and that is the road that Baby Kaia was on. She has a secondary bacterial infection from going so long without treatment and will need daily medication, with multiple medicated baths weekly and weekly applied medication to begin the process of her healing.
It is going to be a long, hard road for Baby Kaia, but we are determined to make her healthy and give her the chance at a spoiled rotten forever home that she truly deserves.
TO ALL WHO HAVE ALREADY DONATED!!!
Meet Handsome Hercules.
Although his life didn't start out spoiled rotten like he should have been, we will make sure the rest of his life will be. Thanks to a good samaritan who called into Animal Services for a poor dog being chained under a table with no food or water in poor condition, Herc was able to be saved. When animal services got on the scene that's exactly what they saw. Herc, under weight, tied up under a table with no collar on, no food or water could be reached and an ear infection so bad his ear canals were nearly shut.Through the awesome efforts of Animal Services they were able to gain custody to Herc so we could get him the much needed medical care to get him back up on the road to recovery. On top of everything else, it was found that Hercules is Heartworm +. This handsome man's will to live and love is as beautiful as his huge bully smile. Through everything all he wants to do is lean into you and give you kisses...Please help us help Herc finally free all the chains of his past and start a new leash on life... Healthy!
Ethan was found on a good Samaritans front porch with a gaping hole from his outside hip area into the inside wall cavity of his stomach. The Samaritan picked him up and brought him into a local animal services to receive medical care, and to possibly be reunited with an owner who might have lost him sometime ago.
When an owner did not come, he was released to RRInc for much needed medical care.
He was immediately seen by one of our sponsoring veterinarians, and was rushed right into surgery. Ethan actually had about a 4" hole going from his hip into his abdominal wall that had to be cleaned out and repaired. This was simply caused by an abscess from an unknown source that was left untreated. If he would have received medical care while at home when this first started he would not have ended up in such deplorable conditions.
Ethan was a special soul and captured the hearts of anyone who met him, and showed no matter what amount of pain they go through, they still forgive, understand and love unconditionally. We lost Ethan a few months after his recovery due to an unforeseen incurable medical ailment, and this fund is his legacy and our determination to help owners and dogs stay together through hard times.
We only hope we can live up to who Ethan saw us all as, and help as many as the donation based fund lets us!
Peggy was found last week running the streets of Tampa bay. A kind person picked her up and had her scanned for a microchip. Luckily to their surprise she did have a chip and they tried contacting the information provided. All phone numbers disconnected and they no longer lived at the address, but they did find out it was implanted by a local SPCA... Over 10 years ago... So they brought her back to the original shelter where unfortunately they did not have any better luck tracking down the owner...
Not only did Miss Peggy have her age working against herm but she has a long term yeast infection that has been an on going issue that was never treated so it's going to take some time to heal her skin. Her poor ears are so badly infected that the canals are almost shut as well... Despite all this, Miss Peggy is always wearing a fantastic smile!
I'm a around a bout 10 year old Pit Bull that's "Got
ya Day" is on 08/26/2011. Some of you may know
what that is, and some of you may not... So let me explain...
A "Got ya Day" is the day when dogs are picked
either by a Forever Family, or Rescue from a shelter
and have a chance to live... It's what we like to call
our new birthday, our "Got ya day"...
Yes, that's right... Yours truly was an Elderbull sitting
in a shelter, waiting for... Boy I don't even want to
think of what I was waiting for to happen... I just
remember it being cold, people being sad and there just
being so many of us. I don't like to think about that
though, because on my Got ya Day, that's when my life
started over. You have to live looking every day ahead,
not thinking about what could have been, or how it hurt
along the way. Think about the smiles that you get to
see when your people wake up and get you pet you. The
feel of the sun on your furr when you sit outside on
a warm summer day...
It all happened so fast... I remember waking up and
the people walking by "So sad", "One
that old shouldn't be sitting in a shelter" , "How
do you let your dog go when they are that old?",
then some people came and gave me hugs, kisses and put
a leash around me, I was in a car for quite some time,
and then I met my "Mom" for all intents and
purposes. Sense then, I've combined forces with her
and the Rescue who helped me get here to make people
aware of the Elderbull problem in shelters...
Without people like my "Mommy" who is fostering
me until I find a Forever mommy I wouldn't even be here,
and I can't even think about that... Beyond that, without
people who open their forever lives for Edlerbulls like
me to love we wouldn't have forever homes at all. Could
you imagine a world without rescued Elderbulls? What
a boring place that would be.! Pups can't keep up with
me, plus I don't cause half of the problems they do,
just remember that!
Mr Elijah had surgery today...He had a few of his skin
tumors removed, neutered and they had to do a whole
scrotal ablation due to having a little bump on them
too...All and all he is feeling well after surgery (He
has to wear a "Happy Hat" ) because he wants
to lick at his sutures but he is recovering fine!A few
more visits to the Dr, and he should be able to start
looking for his forever home and start his Therapy dog
Ben" is a wonderful 1-2 Year old Male boy who was
found wandering as a stray with healed over ears that
are cut down to his head, and just a hole where his
eye should be with infection settling in...
Despite all that has been done to him, he found a tiny
8 week old puppy with medical problems of his own and
decided to take care of him. He had never met this puppy
before they were both picked up the same day as strays
and somehow ended up being kenneled together... Ben
lets the puppy eat first, and out of the same bowl.
He mothers this little puppy whom he has never met before...
He is truly a Gentle Ben. He has been through far too
much in his life not to be finally taken care of and
have a chance to be spoiled rotten... "Gavin"This
sweet little 10 week old puppy has a case of generalized
Demodex mange which is completely preventable. treatable
and no reason why it should get this bad... He was found
as a stray, and Gentle Ben has taking on the role of
mothering him. Little Gavin is going to take some time
with medication to completely, heal but he will look
like a brand new puppy when he is!Both are expected
to make full recoveries over time. We are seeking out
long term fosters for both. Please contact Adoptions@RugazRescue.com
for more information on either of these kids!
Update 08/28/2011 -We went to get Ben and Gavin
from Animal Services the morning of 08/26/2011 to be
hit with the information that the owner's have been
found for them. With mixed emotions of "How could
they get this way and the owners come forward and want
to claim them?" ... "Now we know who we can
hold accountable for there medical ailments!" etc...
We wanted to know how, who, when where and why they are
like this...Well to our surprise and glee Ben's owners
are not that "bad" after all! Ben is current
on his vaccines, and tagged and unfortunately through
miss communication he was unaware that the dogs were
at Animal Services. Like many people at this time and
age funding is always an issue and a huge part to play
and Ben himself is a rescue dog to them, as is baby
Gavin. We are now in contact with the owners and are
going to be working out getting Ben's eye repaired and
neutered at the same time free of charge to the owners
if they will let us. :)Gavin is now is RRInc care in
a foster home, as they had rescued Gavin themselves
and were looking for a better environment for him to
get well in to begin with because they did not have
the funding to care for him themselves! What a fantastic
win-win for ALL the dogs and people involved! Hopefully
with some time and work Ben is able to stay home and
receive the medical care he needs, and Gavin was rescued
and will also get all the medical care he needs and
be able to find a forever home. Although Gavin is in
a little bit worse shape then we originally had thought
(He has a sever secondary staff infection all over his
body and pneumonia) He is looking to recover shortly
with some much needed time spent in the Hospital and
will be on the road to full recovery soon! What a fantastic
team effort of Animal Services, Community members, Rescue
members and some amazing selfless people that these
two dogs are getting everything they need!***To everyone
who donated directly to there care. We do indeed have
Gavin in our care, but Ben will be staying with his
owners and we will be working with them on sponsoring
his needed medical treatment but he is not an RRInc.
dog. If you would like to have your donation refunded
or if you would like to have it apply to another one
of our many medical dogs please E-mail into Adoptions@RugazRescue.com
and let us know who you would like us to apply it to!***
found herself as a stray at Hillsborough County Animal
Services and out of time. She has an awesome
personality, and we just don't know how she
lost her way from home and no one was ever able to find
her. She unfortunately could not be apart of the Ambassador
program at Hillsborough because she was Heartworm +.
So she found herself now in foster care here at RRInc.
and currently undergoing the start of Heartworm Treatment.
As soon as she finishs her treatment she will be able
to start looking for a forever home!
boy Cruz has Arrived safelty at a RRInc Foster home.
Unfortunetly in much worse condition then his Animal
Services picture led on.
Baby Boy "Cruz"
Cruz came into Miami-Dade Animal Services
as a stray in this deplorable condition. He is
covered with a sever case of Demodex Mange and
has open gaping wounds all over that he will be
needed intensive care for some time to heal. With
everyone's combined help, we can save Cruz!
"Cruz" is going to have a long hard
road to full recovery. He ill be spending the
next few weeks at the Hospital getting the intensive
care he needs, that will be followed up with long-term
foster care recovery.
If you are interested in donating to "Cruz"s
care you can do so online at the Chipin page:

has no hair to speak of, but little tiny tifs of
hair between some scabs on his back. Once his eyes
close for a small amount of time they swell shut
and full with infection.
all this his tail never stops wagging and all he
wants to do is crawl into your lap and love you..
guy needs all the help we can all pull together
to give to him. Thank you to everyone in advance
who has sent donations, prayers and well thoughts
to Cruz. Through this all, he just wants to love,
and that is all he will ever have from now on...
"Cinnamon" has a unfortunately becoming common
story to tell...
Her and her litter of 10 babies came into animal services
as "Strays"... How a mother and her entire
litter of puppies become "Strays" we will
never understand... The puppies only being 2 weeks old,
and the whole family being pit bulls. The chances of
them all getting out was slim... Until someone notified
us that they were there. With a mass of Volunteer efforts
we were able to move the entire family into foster care
to get them safe, healthy and happy.
Well now all the puppies are spayed/neutered, and some
have even found forever homes, the others have found
new foster homes... So it's Momma "Cinnamons"
time to get taken care of!
Momma "Cinnamon" is now spayed, and started
her Pre-Heartworm Treatment and will be able to move
onto her actual Treatment soon and then some down time
in her Post-Treatment...
Often time people don't look past the litter of puppies,
to see the medical case parents that when those puppies
are gone still need to be taken care of. Momma "Cinnamon"
is a fantastic girl who is going to make a fantastic
addition to any home when she is healthy very soon!
Momma "Cinnamon" is Cat/Dog Friendly and
would love nothing more then to sit on a couch with
a new forever family full of children to dote on! We
are now currently accepting application for Foster-to-Adopt
post treatment for Miss "Cinnamon"!
came into the shelter as a stray, but her personality
shown bright through that kennel. They tested her in
the Pit Bull Ambassador program and she passed but unfortunately
she was Heartworm Positive so they could not put her
up in the program.
They kept re-testing her every
few weeks to buy her time at the shelter to try to find
a rescue to take her, but a
Heartworm Positive Pit Bull amongst
all the others was really becoming a shot in the dark...
Finally a foster home opened
up at RRInc, and we were able to bring her into the
Rescue. Today is the day we get to bring this beautiful
girl from the shelter that fought so hard for her to
make it out, into a foster home where she will finally
get to rest her head and start the Heartworm Treatment
she needs to get better!
Sadie" and her 11 babies
were found living in a Thrift Store with a nice couple
who were in a bad situation and just needed some help.
Momma Sadie came to them from a bad situation herself
and they were trying to do the right thing helping her...
Well unfortunately that led into a litter because they
had 2 intact males at home that they were trying to
find the funding to neuter themselves. So once Sadie
gave birth they moved her to the Thrift Store so they
could be away from the males at home, and were praying
someone would see them and be able to help. Rugaz Rescue
Inc. is working directly with the owners while Momma
Sadie and her babies are safely in a foster home to
get the two males at neutered while Sadie and her babies
are away. Once the babies are 8 weeks old and it's clear
to spay Momma Sadie, We are spaying her and the Owners
are bringing her back home!
It is families and situations like these that we can
help one by one getting their dogs spayed/neutered and
keeping them in their homes. It is unfortunate there
are 11 babies that now need homes, but they will also
be spayed/neutered before finding forever homes. So
this whole situation is ending with 3 adult pitties
getting spayed and neutered and getting to stay home,
and 11 babies getting spayed and neutered before they
find forever homes!
If we could have more outcomes like this we might be
able to make a dent in this puppy epidemic!
It also looks like this family is going to kick off
our new Grant program for Spaying/Neutering Pitties!
More information to come!
So named for her one Wish in life... To live. This baby
came into Orange County Animal Services as a "Stray"...
No one to blame for the state she is in... This timid
little girl was locked somewhere and left to die, much
like our Barnaby... She is urine stained from the bottom
of her chest down, and simply... A walking skeleton...
Starving dogs has become an epidemic
as of recently and there is just no excuse for any of
this. Dogs like "Wish" and "Barnaby"
were confined somewhere and forgotten about. Left to
die a miserable and horrible death alone. How we do
we this as a human race? Much like "Barnaby",
Miss Wish just wants to be loved...
The picture to the right is of her on 05/26/2011 52lbs.
All of her urine stains gone and was spayed yesterday!
That means she is ready to find a forever home!!!
This 8 year old
boy has had a long trip from a neglectful home that
never tended to his wounds. He completely de-gloved
his bottom jaw of skin being caught in a chain link
fence for hours and he is heartworn +. So after much
treatment he will be ready to find a forever home! His
previous owners we're enjoyed to never own animals and
the criminal case is still pending.
"Honey Bun" was transfered from Miami-Dade
Animal Services on 01/08/2011 with a sever case of Demodex Mange.
As many of you know, we have Oliver and Frisco who are in the
same shape as this little girl. Demodex is a highly preventable
and curable disease when treated. When left it can be deadly,
and this is the point Honey Bun is at. This girl is going to take
a long-term medical care, and even through all this pain she just
wants to be by your side....
A true Ambassador of her breed... Loving through
all what people have done to her...
She is currently being treated at:
Animal Hospital Of Regency Park
Dr. Michael S. Canfield
7741 Congress Street
New Port Richey, FL 34653
Animal Hospital of Regency Park accepts
donations made for Honey Buns's account over the phone.
Dreamer came into Bay Moornings Animal Hospital with her family not feeling well. After some tests Miss Dreamer came back Parvo +. Unfortunetly the family could not afford the treatment that would safe her life, so Luckily one of Rugaz Rescue Inc. staff works at the clinic and we were able to work it out with Bay Moornings for the family to sign Dreamer over to the Rescue to recive medical care, instead of their only option being Euthanasia when not being able to afford her life-saving treatment.
Everyone please keep "Dreamer" in your thoughts and prayers, although this girl is getting 24 Hour emergency care, she is still in really bad shape...
04/10/2011*** Miss Dreamer did not make it through
today... We lost our litter Dreamer, but now she
is no longer in pain and can dream to start a
new life over, a better life where she is not
exposed to Parvo, and left too long before treatment...
We will miss you Sweet Dreamer, please dream of
us.... RIP 4/10/2011
"Heidi" and her 10 babies... Signed over on
03/17/2011 by a family who had originally found her
as a stray 4 months prior and was keeping her in a chicken
coup outside. They have an intact male Chihuahua/Jack
Russell male who unfortunately met up with Heidi, and
along came the family. They could not afford to care
for the adult dogs let along the puppies, so they sought
out help from Rugaz Rescue Inc and we were able to remove
the dogs from the family to get the much needed care
they were lacking. Once we obtained the entire family
mother is about 1/2 of her body weight she should be
and Heartworm +. The babies would not have lasted much
longer, infested with fleas, and eyes sealed shut with
puss from the elements they were living in.
Once the family is weaned and able to be seperated from
Heidi, she will be spayed and under go heartworm treatment
so she too will be able to find a forever home of her
own as well as her family.
Frisco came from Melbourne Animal Services as a "Stray".
He was found with another perfectly healthy blue and white pittie,
and he was claimed. Frisco was left there to die. He ears are
cropped off horribly to his head, and he has a very curable/treatable
and preventable disease when it's caught in the early stages.
Frisco's face is oozing with blood and infection and has to be
scrubbed daily, and a sulfur medication applied daily. He is on
a twice a day anti-biotic, An anti-inflammatory/sedative to try
to help his swelling and itching twice a day. He's on bi-weekly
promeris and has to wear an E-collar for two weeks to help his
face heal. This poor boy is being put through the ringer to save
his life, when it's something so simply that his owner could have
easily cured instead of watching him get this bad...
He is currently being treated at:

Miss "Dora" came from Animal Servies of
Melourn where she was surrendered by her owner because "She

This sad soul was found as a stray roaming the streets
in Hillsborough county. Covered in urine stains and emaciated
to the point of death. When a fecal was run, he was negative of
all intestinal parasites and bloodwork came back completely normal.
So in the end, someone confined Barnaby somewhere and left him
to die. The result of his neglect is a direct result of a cruel
and horrible human being.
To help prevent bloat, a potentially fatal condition
that can be caused by eating too fast, Barnaby is being given
multiple small meals throughout the day to help him slowly gain
the weight he desperately needs.
Sweet, Goofball Barns. Humans put you through so much
being left confined to die covered in urine and only
weighing 1/2 of your body weight should be. Sometimes
that leaves a lasting impression, and that isn't any
ones fault Barns. You had everyone by your side, and
everyone is still by your side now. You will forever
continue to change minds and help people learn about
Animal Cruelty just like Oakley big boy.
You don't have to guard anyone, or think anyone is taking
anything away from you ever again Barns... You are at
peace now, where everything is yours buddy. You never
have to fear you wont get your meal, or play time. You
wont have to fear people coming in your house, or doing
things you don't want to do buddy... It's all about
you now...Your foster family showed you the only unconditional
truly spoiled love you had ever known, but sometimes
even that is not enough to heal the wounds of the past.
We all miss you very much, and everyone who worked with
you loved you very much. You have changed the lives
of so many people, those you have met and those who
have not even met you at all. Just with your goofball
smile, you changed hearts and minds... You will continue
to forever do that as well... We will miss you.
Oliver came to us from Orange County Animal Services as a "stray"
who wondered up to someone somehow. Being a "stray"
is impossible for Oliver. He lives for human companionship and
absolutly adores and follows everyone around. He wouldn't stray
away from anyone. Someone watched him get to be in this condition...
Oliver is currently being treated for A sever case of Demodexx
Mange, A Lrage open wound on his leg, and a puncture hole through
his ear. He is on daily anti-biotics, daily therapy lasor treatments,
weekly medicated baths, and bi-weekly applications of promeris.
This boy is a fighter.... He is fighting to live and love...
His name is "Oliver"...
The meaning of "Oliver" - "Olive Tree"
Why we named him after the "Olive Tree"...
"That the olive signifies the good of charity,
is evident from the signification in the Word
not only of an olive, but also of oil. It was
with olive oil, together with spices, that the
priests and kings were anointed, and it was with
olive oil that the lamps were trimmed (Exod. 30:24;
27:20). The reason olive oil was used for anointing
and for lamps was that it represented all that
is celestial, and therefore all the good of love
and of charity; for the oil is the very essence
of the tree, and is as it were its soul, just
as the celestial, or the good of love and of charity,
is the very essence or the very soul of faith;
and hence oil has this representation. That oil
signifies what is celestial, or the good of love
and of charity, may be confirmed from many passages
of the Word; but as it is the olive-tree that
is mentioned here, we will merely present some
passages that confirm its signification"
Oliver was such a keeper his foster mom decided
to make him family! Congrats Tonja and Oliver!!
This little boy came to Orange County Animal Services as a stray
with home cut ears, horrible Demodex and a secondary infecton.
He is being treated with Promeris, Antibiotic, and many suppliments
for his skin, eat and eye infections.
Tex slowly getting better at the photoshoot with Lisa from www.LittlePetProject.com
*Update 12/15/2010* Tex has fully recovered
and is now looking for a forever home.
11/03/2010 - Journey and her 4 puppies came up as stray in Orange
County Animal services. When the stray hold was up and no one
came to claim them, and no one stepped up to save them either.
So RRInc stepped up, a band of Volunteers all chipped together
to create the freedom train and they are safely in the hands of
a Foster Mother now.
What will your donations help with this family?
All 4 puppies to be spayed/neutered at 8 Weeks
Momma Journey to be spayed
All to be Microchipped
De-Wormed every 2 weeks
High quality lamb and rice puppy food for Journey and
then for her and babies as they wean.
Shampoo [As we all know puppies are messy!!]
9/3/10: Evetta is currently being transported
from Collier County Animal Services to her foster home,
where she will begin her treatment for Demodex mange.
9/1/10 - We have just
had x-rays taken and the news is not good. Pebbles
has a grade 4 luxating patella that will require
surgery. We have a vet to do the surgery, but
she'll require at least a month or two of aftercare
that includes antibiotics, pain meds, x-rays,
and physical therapy. Please donate and help Pebbles
as she starts a difficult journey!
9/6/10: Okay, so Haggard isn't one of our typical cases, but
when our Director got word that this poor, wonderful boy was going
to be put to sleep if someone didn't transport him out of the
Animal Services that he was surrendered to, she answered the call.
While we were told that he had some eye issues we weren't expecting
the multiple medical issues that came with him. On top of the
eye issues, he had a horrible ear and skin infection, a mysterious
tumor on his head and was severely underweight for his size. Not
sure if we could fix all the issues that Haggard had, we considered
having him humanely euthanized to prevent him from being in any
pain, but it became quickly obvious to us that Haggard wasn't
ready to give up and still had much love to give. The first child
he encountered he licked and wagged, he loved every dog we put
in front of him and just wanted to be touched and loved by everyone
who crossed his path. How could we even think about giving up
on him when he had such an amazing personality and spirit? We
decided we couldn't and so now we are embarking on what will no
doubt be a long road to recovery for Haggard and were hoping that
you'll help us with his journey!
If you would like to donate directly to Animal
Hospital of Regency Park, They are more then happy
to take credit cards over the phone, or written
checks. Please make in notes it's for Rugaz Rescue

8/6/10 - A few weeks ago we transferred three blue puppies; Elaina,
Damon, and Stephan. These pups were is awful shape when we recieved
them, suffering from a condition known as demodex mange. On top
of that they had severe skin infection and were coming down with
kennel cough. These kids were swollen and sore, but despite that,
all they wanted to do is cuddle and be loved. Damon was the smaller
of the boys and was the least severe out of the three. With the
spectacular work of his foster home, he finished his treatment
and we are happy to report that he was just adopted! Unfortuntely
Elaina and Stephen have a longer road to recovery, ahead of them.
We are doing everything we can to get these two healed up and
into a forever home, but we need help from our wonderful supporters
to do so! Please help us, help them!
8/13/10 - Elaina has recieved the all clear and is ready for
Stephan still has some recovering to do, but we hope
that he too will soon be on his way to finding his forever home!
*Update 10/10/10* - Elaina has found her forever home and Stefan
has been cleared for adoption!
07/01/2010 - This beautiful family came to RRInc as strays believe
it or not! We Eve and her babies at a mere 4 days old. They are
currently all being treated for an Upper Respiratory infection
and intestinal parasites.
10/10/2010 - Marley and Mia Eve's 2 babies have found their forever

cares for you, and your working towards your CGC Breed Ambassador!
05/26/2010 - This boy came in half dead from the filth above.
Yes the picture you see above was his "Home" and the
picture of him above is how he came to us out of his "home"
with the tireless work efforts of Hillsborough County Animal Services.
Completely scabbed over, needing a blood transfusion and almost
completely hairless this boy fought for his life with everyone
right behind him rooting him on. He is truly an Ambassador of
his breed, loving everything that he meets and truly living every
day to the fullest.
He is still under going treatment for his Demodex mange, but
will be available for adoption once completely cleared.
For us to continue to help dogs like PB, Roxy, Persistence's and Sooki we rely
on donations from people like you! Anything from
$1.00 to $100.00 makes the difference in us being
able to save medical cases like all these on this
Guardian Angels site...
Achilles story is a sad one.
He was adopted from Rugaz Rescue Inc. in 03/2007 to a wonderful
family who's mother was a RN. They adored Achilles, and we went
to see him on a few occasions to help with training. 2 1/2 Years
have gone by and Achilles was brought in as a stray to Hillsborough
County Animal Services with an horribly embedded collar, Heartworm
Positive and a horrible aggression towards dogs. We are currently
doing an investigation on his previous owner to get answers on
what happend to Achilles. After being questioned Tacara states
Achilles ran away Nov' 07' while she "Tied him up while moving
furnature to her new home". He was found in the 8000 block
of Temple Place in Tampa, Fl. 33617... Which is within 6 miles
of the address when she adopted him. Someone in that area has
to know something about him. About where he was tied up at, who
Achillies upon his arrival at Hills. Co. Animal Services
Update on Investigation: Tacara Drew stated she tied him up outside
while she was moving and when they came back "He was just
gone"... After contacting her current landlord where she
moved to on that date the landlord stated "There is a no
dog policy". So even if Achilles went missing on "moving"
day she couldn't bring him with her anyways... So really... What
did she do to Achilles that fateful day? Tacara Drew, your story
does not add up....
There is a reward for any information leading to the proven where
abouts of Achilles in the past two years...
*UPDATE 06/16/2010* - Tacara Drew "Achilles" previous adopter was
enjoined to NEVER own animals again! "Justice For
Roxy's story is a sad one, much like all the ones
were looking for Guadian Angel's for. Roxy had a family but unfortunetly
one day it all fell apart. She lived with 5 Human children and 3
doggy siblings as well. The wife and 5 children had to go up north
to stay with family members while the husband stayed behind to try
to work out some issues. Unfortunetly she could not bring the dogs
with her, and the children came first. Well the husband was sent
to rehab and couldn't come home, so they arranged to have a neighbor
feed the dogs until they could make solid plans for them. A family
member came over to check on them and Roxy and her siblings looked
all much like this, Roxy being the worst. She is a little head shy,
and scared of almost everything. She is coming around and gives
the best sweet kisses a little girl could ever give... With some
TLC she will make a full recovery and find a forever loving home...
Update 05/20/2010: Miss Moxy Roxy is fully recovered
and ready to find her forever home!!
Miss Persistence stays true to her name, and that is the very
reason we named her this. She has a Persistence to live! She was
found a dirty, embaciated bag of bones by a wonderful family who
took her in and diligently looked for a place that Persistence
could be medically taken care of immediately. Well she found her
way here to Rugaz Rescue Inc.
Update: Persistence fully recovered and found an amazing forever
Norma Jean's story unfortunately
seems to be more common now, then it ever was.
She was found as a stray roaming around the streets
of Tampa, filled with Milk and looking for her
babies somewhere. It had looked as if she had
given birth within the week, and we are absolutely
amazed no one ever came for her. Well when her
stray time was up, we jumped up and pulled her
from Animal Services, to find out that this awesome
girl was also Heartworm Positive. Look at those
soulful eyes. We're not giving up that easy, we
will reach out to the community for a little help
and get her the treatment she needs! Norma Jean
is truly a breed Ambassador, being completely
Dog/Cat and Kid friendly! This girl has it all,
and we are going to do everything we can to make
her journey into finding a forever home.
Wont you please help us?

· Previous: Machete used on dog
"Hillsborough Animal Services officials say they don't believe
Clopinel "James" Pascal's story that he attacked a pit
bull with a machete because the dog attacked him and his dog first.
"It doesn't add up so far," said Marti Ryan, spokeswoman
for Animal Services.
Pascal, 31, was arrested Friday afternoon on a charge of animal
cruelty. Investigators say he struck the white female pit bull with
a pipe and machete, partially cutting its ear off. He was released
from jail early Saturday after posting $2,000 bail.
Pascal said he had attempted to rehabilitate the dog and socialize
it with his own pit bull after it had been abused and abandoned
by neighbors. He said when he was trying to tie up the abandoned
dog in the backyard of his home in Sulphur Springs, it attacked
him and then his dog, "Sasha," when Sasha tried to defend
Pascal said he picked up the machete to defend himself.
A witness, however, on Friday told investigators the pit bull was
walking up the street when Pascal lured the dog into his yard, closed
the gate, picked up a pipe and started beating the dog with it.
He was "laughing the whole time,'' Pascal's arrest report stated.
Both dogs were taken into custody by Animal Services.
Ryan, of Animal Services, said today the injured pit bull is still
in their care and is a sweet dog.
"She seems very forgiving to humans," she said.
Ryan thinks the dog was a stray but at one point had owners.
Pascal's pit bull didn't have a mark on her from the alleged fight
and is "extremely animal aggressive," she said.
The injured dog doesn't have a microchip to identify her, Ryan said.
She had several other cuts on her body and they are still doing
tests on her to determine if she has heartworms or other ailments.
The dog could soon be up for adoption, Ryan said."
Miss Sooki is now recovering and getting a Re-Check on Monday where she wil be spayed and sent into a foster home. After all of FVS's medical team cleaning up Miss Sooki and getting her all fixed up, did we get hit with the news she was also Heartworm Positive. So while Sooki will be relaxing in a foster home recovering from her wounds, she will be starting Heartworm Treatment which will take up to 2 months of Injections and a "Stay Calm" Foster home.
Rugaz Rescue Inc is looking for a Long-Term (2 to 4) Month foster for Miss Sooki while she fully recovers Emotionally and Physically from this brutal attack.
